Netflix has a famously unique culture built on 'Freedom and Responsibility.' They hire only 'stunning colleagues' and pay top-of-market compensation. The interview process is less structured than Google or Amazon but evaluates cultural fit very heavily. If you align with Netflix's values, it can be an incredible place to work.

No. Netflix is unique among tech giants in offering mostly cash compensation. They provide a base salary at the top of the market and allow employees to choose how much of their salary to receive as stock options. Most employees take mostly cash. This makes Netflix compensation more straightforward than equity-heavy packages at other companies.
Netflix uses a 'keeper test' where managers ask themselves: 'If this person told me they were leaving, would I fight to keep them?' If not, the person receives a generous severance package. This creates a high-performance culture but also means job security is lower than at other tech companies.
Netflix primarily hires senior and above (typically 5+ years of experience). They rarely hire new graduates or junior engineers. If you're early in your career, gain experience elsewhere first and target Netflix when you have 5–7 years of strong experience.
